A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a fire at a GPs' surgery in Cardiff, South Wales Police have said.

The blaze started at the North Cardiff Medical Centre on Excalibur Drive in Thornhill at 2230 BST on Thursday.

Police said the boy, who is from the area, had been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

On Friday, patients who had appointments at the surgery were advised to go to 67 Thornhill Road, where staff from the Excalibur Drive surgery will relocate in the short term.

The roof of the surgery was gutted in the fire and some medical records were moved into the Thornhill Church Centre opposite.

Anyone with any information is being urged to contact Llanishen Police Station on 02920 222111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
