Version 0 of 1.

Charges are being brought after a woman was killed by a runaway horse and carriage at a Suffolk country fair.

Carol Bullett, 57, died following the incident at Nowton Park in Bury St Edmunds in June 2011.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is prosecuting St Edmundsbury Borough Council, which ran the fair, and the horse's owner Duncan Drye, of Bishops Road in Bury.

An inquest last year ruled that Ms Bullett's death was accidental.

Mr Drye was offering carriage rides at the fair, when one of the horses bolted in the late afternoon of 20 June.

Ms Bullett, who was visually impaired, was hit and died from chest injuries at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge the next day.

Both defendants are facing one charge under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

The case is due before magistrates in Bury St Edmunds on 7 February.
