A 17-year-old has been charged with the murder of a youth worker outside Brixton Tube station in south London.

Nathan Foster, 18, was found by police with bullet wounds in Marcus Garvey Way on Friday night.

He was with a group of 10 or 11 youths when they were approached by a man on a motorbike who opened fire.

The 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named because of his age, is due to appear before West London Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

A boy, 14, has been released on police bail.

Detectives said the motive for Mr Foster's killing was unclear but there were reports the shooting was over a piece of jewellery.

Mr Foster died in hospital later on Friday evening.

His murder brings the number of teenagers killed in London this year to 17.
