The chief, Charlton Mureithi, said officials suspected that the gunmen were supporters of Somalia’s Shabab rebels because the dead included a senior prison warden, fitting a pattern of earlier attacks on security personnel. Kenya has suffered a series of attacks since it sent troops to Somalia to fight the Shabab. |
