Version 0 of 1.

One of Damilola Taylor's killers has been charged with handling stolen goods.

Ricky Preddie, 24, had been arrested last month when officers attended his home in Twickenham, south-west London.

They found items that had allegedly been taken during a robbery.

A Ministry of Justice spokesman could not confirm reports that Preddie, who was jailed for eight years in 2006 for manslaughter, had been recalled to prison.

He was jailed alongside his brother Danny for the 10-year-old's killing in Peckham, south-east London, in 2000.

Broken beer bottle

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said he had been charged with handling stolen goods offences and appeared in court on 17 December.

A Ministry of Justice spokesman said it would not comment on individual cases.

Damilola was returning home when he was stabbed in the thigh with a broken beer bottle.

He was found on a stairwell by workmen who tried to save his life.

Ricky Preddie, who was 13 when Damilola died, was convicted of manslaughter in 2005 when forensic evidence, which was missed at the time, revealed tiny blood spots and fibres linking him and his brother to the killing. He was released on parole in September 2010.
