Police officers are preventing members of the public entering a road in Lawford, which is where the discovery of a body was made.
The scene, which is near a railway bridge, is being guarded by officers.

A spokeswoman for Essex police said: "We have yet to remove the body from the scene and identification is unlikely to take place today.
"The police cordon around the area is likely to stay in place for the forseeable future."
