Manchester Chinatown fight: Twelve men sentenced

Twelve men have been sentenced for their part in a large-scale fight which broke out in Manchester's Chinatown.

Police said the violence broke out after the groups had been at the K2 karaoke bar in George Street.

Six men were stabbed in the brawl, which took place between two rival gangs of men in the early hours of 16 June 2010.

Five men were sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday and seven were dealt with at an earlier hearing.

Greater Manchester Police had to trawl through hours of CCTV to try to identify those responsible.

Detectives are still trying to trace 24-year-old Chinese national Pedro Lo, who is believed to have left the country shortly after the fight.

Two trials

On Tuesday, Michael Chuon, 29, of Prenton, Wirral, was found guilty of violent disorder. He also pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon and was jailed for three years.

Four more men were found guilty of violent disorder.

Hiu Nelson Yeung, 25, of Addenbrook Road, Manchester, was jailed for six months suspended for 18 months and ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work.

Ricky Ng, 23, of Brindleheath Road, Salford, was jailed for eight months.

Sui Hang Yeung, 23, of Brailsford Road, Manchester, was jailed for five months.

Chi Yuen Li, 38, of Quarry Pond Road, Worsley, was jailed for six months.

At an earlier hearing in May 2012, seven men were convicted of violent disorder.

Alan Chan, 54, of Nethercote Avenue, Manchester, was jailed for 18 months.

Kwok Hung Lee, 49, of Smithfield Road, Wrexham, was jailed for 15 months.

Tsz Chun Ma, 29, of Broadway, Urmston, was sentenced to six months in jail suspended for 18 months and was ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work.

Tsz Shun Chan, 32, of Allan Roberts Close, Blackley, was jailed for 14 months.

Tsz Sum Chan, 28, of Allan Roberts Close, Blackley, was sentenced to six months in jail suspended for 18 months and was ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work.

William Yip, 35, of Howley Close, Irlam, was jailed for nine months.

Eric Lam, 35, of Yeoford Drive, Altrincham, was sentenced to six months in jail suspended for 18 months and was ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work.
