Children raise arson attack alarm

A man has been saved following an arson attack on a house after a group of children raised the alarm.

Police have praised the youngsters who called the emergency services after spotting the fire at Drumellan Court in Craigavon, County Armagh

A man aged in his 60s who was in the house was uninjured. However, a Jack Russell dog died in the blaze.

The alarm was raised just before 2300 BST on Thursday. The house was completely destroyed.

A car was also damaged in the incident, which the police are treating as arson.
