A body discovered by the skipper of a yacht off the Dorset coast is that of a missing Welsh angler.

Lee Richmond, 23, from Tonyrefail, Rhondda Cynon Taf, was with a group of 12 anglers near Ferrybridge on Chesil beach when he went missing on 22 July.

Despite a major air and sea search involving Portland Coastguard helicopter, he was not found.

Dorset Police said a body found south of Portland Bill on Thursday has been identified as Mr Richmond.

The skipper of the yacht alerted the coastguards and the Weymouth RNLI lifeboat recovered his body.

A police spokesman said Mr Richmond's family had been informed and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out next week.
