The family's Vauxhall Astra was in collision with a Seat Leon on Boothtown Road in Halifax on Sunday afternoon. | |
The 25-year-old woman from Halifax died at the scene. Four men in the Seat and two from another car were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. | |
The men who were in the Seat are aged 19, 20, 21 and 27 and all from Bradford. The other two men, who are believed to have been in a Mercedes, are aged 23 and 22. | |
Det Ch Insp Scott Wood, of West Yorkshire Police's homicide and major enquiry team, said: "This was a young family going about their daily business, but have suffered the ultimate tragedy. | |
"Two young children have been left without a mum." | |
Police said the condition of the two children was thought to be improving. | |
They want to speak to the driver of a blue X-registered Mercedes 230 CLK that was seen driving with the Seat Leon immediately before the incident. |
