One reader who contacted the BBC Scotland news website said she had witnessed similar scenes on a separate plane, which had landed at Gatwick Airport at 0600 BST on Thursday after returning from the Dominican Republic.
Heather Threader, who stayed at a different hotel than those flying into Glasgow, said: "Our plane had very sick passengers on board who were suffering cramps, diarrhoea and sickness.
"We were met by paramedics who took sick passengers off."
Ms Threader added that all passengers had to complete a form to enable them to be contacted if needed.
