Memory-loss Birmingham man reunited with family
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-20943631 Version 0 of 1. A man who woke up on a park bench unable to remember anything about himself has been reunited with his family, hospital staff say. Nurses at Birmingham's City Hospital had dubbed the man "Steve" but it has since been discovered that his real name is Robert. He said he woke up on New Year's Day, found his way to a police station and was then taken to the hospital. A spokeswoman from the hospital said Robert was "fit and well". He is thought to be in his late 40s or early 50s and has a West Midlands accent. Robert had said he vaguely remembered having a sister and had recognised the Wolverhampton Wanderers' badge on television. After waking up in an unknown park, he managed to find his way to the Bullring shopping centre to warm up and then walked to nearby Digbeth police station before being taken to hospital. Robert and his family have asked for privacy, said hospital staff. |
