The officer was the only occupant of the vehicle when it crashed. PC Bramma, who was based in Harrogate, had only worked for the North Yorkshire force for four months after transferring from Greater Manchester Police.
Mr Madgwick added that his family had been informed and were being given support by specially trained officers. He leaves behind a wife and two small children, police have confirmed.

A floral tribute has been left at the scene of the crash by fellow officers, with a brief note offering "deepest sympathies" to the the dead police officer's family at their "sad loss". PC Bramma was the only occupant of the vehicle when it crashed.
