A number of police officers have been injured during minor disturbances in Belfast, as trouble broke out at a flag protest for a second consecutive night. A number of police officers have been injured and several people have been arrested during fresh violence at a union flag protest in east Belfast.
A petrol bomb, fireworks and other missiles were thrown at police after more than 200 protestors blocked Castlereagh Street. A PSNI spokesman said officers have come under "sustained attack from crowds of up to 300 people using fireworks, bricks and petrol bombs".

The protest was over the flying of the Union flag at Belfast City Hall. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
