Police are investigating an attempted robbery in south Belfast. Police investigating an attempted robbery in south Belfast have arrested a 24-year-old man.

Police used a battering ram to gain entry to an unoccupied house in Delhi Street and a sniffer dog was also used. A blue Renault Laguna car with registration YBZ 5390 that police believe was used by the men was found in Baroda Street at around midday.
Two cars have been examined at the entry to an alleyway. One of them may have been rammed by the other. The men are believed to have made off towards Elgin Street and Delhi Street.
It is believed police had been searching for those involved in the robbery attempt. Police are also keen to trace the movements of a second car, a grey BMW 320 touring, regristration UEZ 8597, which was also abandoned in Baroda Street after colliding with a police vehicle.
