A shoreline search is being carried out by police and friends of a missing teenager who jumped from a ferry into a river on New Year's Eve. More searches have been carried out for a teenager who jumped from a ferry into a river on New Year's Eve.

Brixham Coastguard said it had called off the search on Tuesday night and it would only resume if more information emerged, but there had been no news overnight. Brixham Coastguard co-ordinated a search on Tuesday night, halting it when it got dark. MoD Police carried out patrols throughout the night.

Friends of the teenager said they were due to meet at the Tamar Bridge on Wednesday morning to carry out their own land-based search. Det Insp Nick West, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said a river search had resumed on Wednesday with the support of the RNLI, as well as MoD ribs and launches.
Students and teachers at Stoke Damerel Community College, where Jordan is a Year 11 student, organised the prayer service on Tuesday and friends of the teenager have paid tribute to him on social media sites. He said: "We've been concentrating on an area around the Torpoint ferry, up round the Tamar Bridge, and the Millbrook area and the small inlets around there."
Officers also conducted a search of the shoreline and the water, the force added.
Friends of the teenager added that they hoped to carry out their own land-based search.
