A prisoner described by police as "highly dangerous" has been found in Surrey after absconding from prison.

Richard Todd, 25, failed to return to HMP Standford Hill, Eastchurch, Kent, on 18 November after day release.

The public were warned not to approach Todd, who was five-and-a-half years into an indeterminate term for robbery, taking without consent and burglary

Surrey Police said he was located by officers at an address in Ashford in the early hours of Saturday.

He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, affray, driving offences and absconding from prison and was returned to jail.

The force said Todd lived in Hayes, west London, before he was jailed and also had links to Staines in Surrey and Basingstoke in Hampshire.
