Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service station commander Alan Martin said that when crews first arrived they were met with a "very intense" fire.
"Breathing apparatus was put on and fire crews were committed and quickly got the fire under control," he said.
"Unfortunately there was one male fatality."
