Japan turns back NI pork shipment NI firms facing export problems

A shipment of pork from County Tyrone was stopped from entering Japan despite the European Union's decision to exempt NI meat exports from the UK ban. Northern Ireland firms have reported difficulties in shipping meat and dairy products to some countries, despite being exempt from a ban on UK produce.
The meat was sent from Grampian Foods in Cookstown. There is an EU ban on exporting Britsh meat and dairy products due to a foot-and-mouth outbreak in Surrey.
Despite NI's exemption, a shipment of pork from County Tyrone has been stopped from entering Japan.
And a local dairy company has claimed Germany is refusing to take its produce.
Dale Farm has said orders are now at risk after what it claimed is Germany's decision to ban all UK milk products.
Difficulties are also being encountered in shipping dairy products to South American markets
The pork stopped in Japan was sent from Grampian Foods in Cookstown.
