Two people are due in court in Dublin and Lisburn in connection with the murder of prison officer David Black. A 36-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged in connection with the murder of prison officer David Black.
A 36-year-old man charged with terror offences is due to appear at Lisburn court on Thursday. Damien Joseph McLaughlin, 36, from Kilmascally Road, Dungannon, appeared at Lisburn Magistrates Court.
Mr Black, 52, was shot as he drove to work on the M1 in County Armagh on 1 November by a new dissident republican group calling itself the IRA. He is accused of obtaining a car in the Republic of Ireland which police believe is linked to Mr Black's murder.
A man, 44, arrested in Dublin on Tuesday is to appear at the Special Criminal Court in the city. A defence lawyer said there was insufficient evidence to connect Mr McLaughlin to the charge. However, this was dismissed by the district judge.
A woman, 31, was also arrested in connection with the murder in Dublin on Tuesday. It is not known whether she has been charged. He was remanded in custody until 4 January.
