Homeloan Management Ltd said the new staff would help meet increasing demand for its mortgage administration services. The company, which is part of the Skipton Building Society group, already employs 75 people in Glasgow. It will be relocating to the city's Skypark business complex to accommodate the expansion. HML's plans have been supported by the Scottish government with an offer of up to £1.6m in Regional Selective Assistance. Enterprise Minister Jim Mather said: "HML's decision to invest in Glasgow confirms Scotland's status as a first class location with skilled and motivated people. "Despite the global competition Scotland has again proven its ability to attract, to grow and to retain business." Damian Stansfield, HML operations director, said: "This is an important development not just for HML but also the local community, as we are continuing to grow the number of jobs available." HML handles assets of £48bn for more than 40 clients, and currently employs about 1,800 people. |
