A passenger plane with 45 people on board has made an emergency landing at Birmingham International Airport. Emergency crews were called to an airport when a passenger plane with 45 people on board reported problems with its landing gear.
Pilots in the British Airways Avro RJ 100 aircraft from Edinburgh reported a problem with the plane's landing gear about 1000 BST on Wednesday. Pilots on board a British Airways Avro RJ 100 from Edinburgh said the wheels failed to work when it tried to land at Birmingham International Airport.
An airport spokesman said that, as a precaution, the airport declared a full emergency but the plane landed safely. A spokesman said that the aircraft circled in the air and the wheels came down after a second attempt.

A spokesman for British Airways told BBC News: "The emergency services were put on standby as a precaution.

"The passengers disembarked and they were all fine, no-one was hurt and they went on their way."
