The Lithuanian ambassador to the UK has expressed concern about attacks on eastern Europeans who are living in Northern Ireland.

Vygaudas Usackas will be in Dungannon, County Tyrone, later to visit members of the Lithuanian community living in the town.

There have been several racially motivated attacks on immigrants living there in the past.

"Those were incidents we were following with deepest concern," he said.

"I hope we can work together in order to promote better awareness, mutual respect and tolerance."
