Man held over businessman's death

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a businessman who was found injured near a Cumbernauld garden centre.

Andrew Best died in hospital shortly after being discovered on the access road to the Dobbies centre on 4 June.

The 44-year-old father-of-one, who was known as Drew, lived in Stirling and owned a painting and cladding firm based in Bonnybridge.

Police said a full report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

The 22-year-old man is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Thursday.
