Fatal crash closes A1M southbound Road reopens after fatal crash

A man has been killed in an accident which has closed the A1M southbound in Hertfordshire, causing long tailbacks. The A1M southbound in Hertfordshire has reopened after it was closed for 10 hours following a motorcyclist's death.
The crash, which happened in the early hours of the morning, involved two vans, a lorry, a car and a motorcycle. A man riding a Honda motorcycle was killed in a collision which happened between junction 10 at Stotfold and junction 9 at Letchworth Gate.
It closed the road between Baldock at junction 10 and Letchworth at junction 9, which is expected to remain closed until later in the day. Two vans, a lorry and a car were also involved in the accident which occurred at 0400 BST, said a spokesman for Hertfordshire Police.
Police said investigators are at the scene and motorists should avoid the area if possible. The accident caused major tailbacks during the day.
