Bradley Wiggins crash driver to be questioned by police

The driver who knocked Bradley Wiggins off his bicycle will be questioned later, police have said.

The Tour de France winner and Olympic gold medallist was in a collision with a van pulling out of a garage forecourt on Crow Orchard Road, Wrightington, Lancashire, on Wednesday evening.

Wiggins, 32, spent the night at the Royal Preston Hospital after suffering a bruised hand and ribs.

He has now returned to his home at Eccleston to continue his recovery.

Lancashire Police said the driver of the white Vauxhall Astra, who has not been named, was not injured.
