Javaid Ali, 48, was attacked in Sunshine Grocers, Paisley, on 15 June. He died in hospital on 29 June. It is alleged that Lee Anderson stabbed Javaid Ali in the neck in Sunshine Grocers, Paisley, on 15 June. The 48-year-old died in hospital on 29 June.
More than 60 officers were brought in to investigate Mr Ali's death, with hundreds of door-to-door inquiries carried out in the local area. During an appearance at Paisley Sheriff Court, Mr Anderson, from Foxbar, Paisley, made no plea or declaration.
The man being held is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court later. The case against him was continued by Sheriff Paul Crozier.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal. More than 60 officers were brought in to investigate after Mr Ali's death.
