A flood warning and a number of flood alerts have been issued across Northamptonshire following heavy rainfall on Sunday.

The warning was issued for Cogenhoe Mill caravan park near Northampton, the Environment Agency said.

In May, about 1,000 residents from the park and Billing Aquadrome in the Nene Valley, had to leave their homes over fears of potential flooding.

The warning and alerts are expected to be in place for at least 24 hours.

Flood alerts have been issued for the River Nene, the River Ise, the River Tove and the Welland Valley, Harpers Brook and Willow Brook in the north of the county, the agency said.

A man and woman were rescued in Long Buckby on Sunday afternoon after their car got stuck in flood water.

The vehicle was pulled to safety by firefighters.
