The M60 will close in both directions, between junctions 5 and 8, for 24 hours from 22:00 GMT on Saturday. The M60 was due to be closed for 24 hours, in both directions between junctions five and eight, from 22:00 GMT on Saturday.
The work was completed eight hours ahead of schedule and the road reopened during the afternoon.

Mr Diggins said: "We appreciate it's inconvenient for people shopping on Sunday, our intention is to try and open the road as quickly as possible and if we can, we will do. A second motorway closure will take place when a bridge is installed over the M56 from 22:00 GMT on 24 November.
"This time has been agreed by the local authorities and the Highways Agency as the best time to do it."
The bridge will be installed at Sale Water Park and clearly signed diversions will be in place.
