A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service said it had taken a boy from Stretford Road in Hulme to Hope Hospital in Salford. It is thought shots were fired from a green Honda Legend and another car, which were travelling along Marksfield Avenue in Chorlton-on-Medlock.
The shots were fired from the cars into Frobisher Close, towards a group of people who were gathered on the street.
