Suspicions
Police said the pump was sent to what turned out to be a genuine incident.
A man allegedly impersonating a firefighter was at the scene when the pump arrived but suspicions were raised.
Chief Fire Officer for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service Terry Standing said: "We have a very robust command structure in place. I can reassure the public that there is no time when we do not know the identities of those dealing with an incident.
"This is not only vital for scenarios such as this, but for the health and safety of our firefighters."
