He said: "The memorial service is primarily for the children who knew Sam, Becca and Charlie. The message said: "There are so many people I want to thank for their compassion and support.
"We would like to thank their many friends for helping to make their brief lives so joyful. "But today I want to thank you all for the parts you played in every smile my children ever had. There have been so many of those.
"They are so sadly missed. They shall remain forever in our hearts." "I hope you all know how much they cared for the people in their lives, how glad they were for you all, how glad I am that they had you."
Balloons were released into the sky and candles were lit at a memorial on the school grounds.
