Teenager hit in drive-by shooting

A 16-year-old boy has been shot in a drive-by shooting in Manchester.

The teenager was on Hartington Road in Moss Side when a number of shots were fired at him from a passing dark-coloured car.

Police were alerted to the incident by the ambulance service, who took him to hospital with a minor leg injury. He has since been discharged.

Officers are currently at the scene and patrols have been increased in the area to reassure the community.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw a dark car in the Hartington Road area at this time, to contact them.
