Two Palestinian militants were killed in separate Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza on Monday as they fired rockets and mortar shells at Israeli troops, according to Palestinian officials and the Israeli military. Gazan officials said that the Israeli forces had crossed the border into Gaza. One of the militants was a member of Hamas, the Islamic group that governs Gaza; the other was from the Popular Resistance Committees, a group aligned with Hamas. |
