Third terror arrest man released

A third man arrested in Manchester for alleged terror-related activity has been released.

Following the arrests last Wednesday one man was released on Friday and a second man was freed on Tuesday.

Police said they made all three arrests following information received about alleged terrorist activity and of the existence of a potential threat.

A fourth man was arrested under immigration laws and his case is being handled by the immigration service.

Police said there were no links to any recent incidents or investigations.

All four arrests were carried out by officers from Greater Manchester Police's Counter Terrorism Unit, in the Longsight area of the city.
