Firefighters rescue person from Malpas flat fire

One person has been taken to hospital after a flat fire in south Wales.

Firefighters pulled the person from the ground-floor blaze at Trevithick Close, Malpas, Newport.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of fire on Friday at 04:35 BST was accidental

The condition of the person is not yet known.
