Family's 'lucky escape' from fire

A man and his two teenage daughters were trapped on the first floor by the blaze, which began on the stairway of the block on the Suffolk Road. The Fire Service said it was treating the early morning blaze as suspicious, and police have begun an investigation. Firefighter Alan Walmsley said the family had a lucky escape. He said their injuries were minor but they were shocked following their ordeal. |
