Derek McLaren, who had been in Alicante with his family, said: "It's brilliant to be back. Our flight was cancelled and we didn't have a lot of money.
"We had two nights' delay. We managed to get free drinks for the kids even though they didn't want to give us them."
Another holidaymaker, Brian Murphy, said: "A lot of people were running out of money.
"It was the flight company that was the problem. I was a bit scared on the way out because of the state of the plane."
