The bomb hit the peacekeepers as their patrol passed through the village of Qasimiyeh near the port city of Tyre, officials said. The bomb hit a unit of Tanzanian military police on a bridge in the village of Qasimiyeh, north of the city of Tyre, the officials said.
There are no reports of casualties and the nationality of the peacekeepers in the patrol is unknown. A UN spokeswoman said no casualties were reported and the organisation was investigating the attack.
