Inquiries have now revealed that he may have bought a bus ticket to London on or about that date.

Det Ch Insp John Mackenzie said: "We are growing increasingly concerned for Mr McLachlan's safety and are keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen him or heard from him since 10 June."
