A 29-year-old woman and her baby have been found dead in the River Araglin in the Kilworth area of Cork. Post mortem examinations are to be carried out on the bodies of a young woman and her baby found dead in a river in County Cork.
The alarm was raised by a member of the public at about 1130 BST on Saturday. It is understood that the woman, 33, left home with her son, who was nine months old, at about 0900 BST on Saturday.
The names of the woman and her eight-month-old son have not yet been released. Family members became concerned when she didn't return.
A search began. Two bodies were taken from the River Araglin in the Kilworth area at lunch-time.
