Smoking 'caused fatal house fire'
(about 11 hours later) | |
A house fire which killed a woman in Flintshire was caused by "smoking material" left on a sofa, firefighters believe.
The woman died after the blaze at a house in Burnsdale Court in Sandycroft, Flintshire, on Sunday.
Firefighters were called to the house at about 1500 BST, after receiving a request from the ambulance service.
The body of the woman, who has not been named, was found in the kitchen after a "slow burning" fire in the living room.
In a statement on Monday, North Wales Fire Service said: "Investigations strongly suggest that the fire was caused by smoking materials left unattended on a sofa in the living room at the property."
The investigation continues. |
