CCTV captures 'diamond robbers'

Police have released a CCTV image of two men alleged to have carried out a multi-million pound jewellery theft.

The pair were captured entering Graff Diamonds in Sloane Street, west London, after arriving in a Bentley on 5 June.

The suspects, one wearing a Panama hat and dark blazer and the other a cream-coloured suit, spoke to staff and then pulled out guns.

"It's not every day people use a Bentley to arrive at a premises they intend to rob," said police.

Distinctive clothing

Detectives have also provided pictures of the stolen goods, which include rings, necklaces, pendants and earrings studded with gems.

"I am sure there will be people who were in the street and saw this car pull up and drop two people off," said Det Sgt Sarah Staff.

"The people responsible for this robbery were wearing distinctive clothing.

"Given the nature of the jewellers targeted by these men, the items taken are significant and unique in design.

"Those caught up in the robbery have been left extremely shaken by this incident."

Graff Diamonds, which is based in Bond Street, has branches in New York, Dubai and Moscow among other cities in the world.
