"It was the wedding reception of the accused - she being the bride - and about midnight, the duty manager at the Hilton Treetops was at the reception desk when the accused's new husband attended holding a blood stained towel to his head. | |
"He indicated that his wife had hit him over the head with a stiletto heel." | |
Staff called in police who turned up to find the room where the couple were due to spend their first night together damaged. | |
Mr Allerton was taken to the accident and emergency unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be treated for a head wound. | |
'Intense pressure' | |
Mr Townsend added: "The room was covered in broken glass and wires were pulled out of sockets throughout the room. | |
"The accused was not particularly friendly to police. She was in quite a distraught state and was asked to calm down before being arrested. | |
"She indicated there was an argument and both were accusing each other of different things. She said he had a hold of her and she was just protecting herself." | |
Brown's solicitor Stuart Beveridge blamed his client's behaviour on her mental state at the time, as she had been drinking while on anti-depressants. | |

However, he pointed out that she was still married and had offered to pay for the damage to the hotel - estimated at £500. | |
Mr Beveridge, who showed the court a letter from Mr Allerton "explaining the situation", said: "She and her husband are still together, although they have been under intense pressure because of this case. | |
"There was an argument and they were both throwing things at each other. She says her husband had a hold of her but she accepts she hit him over the head. It was a very unfortunate incident and was very much out of character. | |
"She was diagnosed with mild depression two years ago and had been drinking at the time but as a result of her behaviour she is now receiving counselling." | |
'Resolved matters' | |
Brown admitted charges of assault to injury and vandalism when she appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. | |
Sheriff James Tierney admonished Brown for the attack on her husband because "they have since resolved matters". | |
In addition to the £200 vandalism fine, he ordered her to pay the hotel £500 compensation for the damage she caused. | |
Brown refused to comment on the case as she left court. | |
The couple were married at the Ardverikie Estate near Newtonmore. They then drove to Aberdeen for their wedding reception. |
