A pensioner who was killed in a road crash in Dumfries and Galloway at the weekend has been named as Eleanor Hawthorn, from Northern Ireland. | |
Ms Hawthorn died when the red Renault Modus she was driving had a head-on smash with a blue Tata Loadbeta pick-up van. | |
The collision happened on the A75 near Kirkcudbright at 1250 BST on Saturday. | |
The 58-year-old van driver sustained serious leg injuries in the incident and is being treated in hospital. | |
Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident, near the Tariff Bridge at Ringford. |
