Roundabout death murder inquiry Taxi driver remand on wife murder

A driver is being questioned on suspicion of murder after the death of a 47-year-old woman who was found at a roundabout with serious injuries. A 45-year-old taxi driver has been charged with murdering his wife after she was found seriously injured at a roundabout in Cwmbran, Torfaen.
Gwent Police said the local woman was involved in a collision with a white Ford Mondeo at about 0100 BST on Saturday at Cwmbran, Torfaen. Pedestrian Fiona May Erickson, 47, from Thornhill, Cwmbran, was involved in a collision with a white Ford Mondeo at about 0100 BST on Saturday.
Anyone in the area of the Coed Eva/Hollybush junction between 0030 BST and 0115 BST is asked to contact police on 01633 838111. Her husband Andrew Erickson has been remanded in custody by Newport magistrates charged with her murder.
A 45-year-old local man is in custody. The case was adjourned until 19 July at the city's crown court.
Mrs Erickson was found in the road on the Hollybush roundabout in Cwmbran in the early hours of Saturday.
Police have renewed their appeal for information from anyone near the Coed Eva/Hollybush junction between 0030 BST and 0115 BST.
