Thieves steal dog from sanctuary

Thieves cut through the perimeter fence at the Assisi Animal Sanctuary in Conlig and took the pedigree old English sheepdog. No other animal was removed. Co-manager of the shelter Heather Oliver said she believed the six-month-old dog, worth at least £500, was stolen to order. "Someone has been up during the week and saw him," Ms Oliver said. "All our dogs are on display. The public can come in and view the dogs and talk to the staff about them. "They've seen him, realised he's young, probably not neutered, and he will have been stolen to order more than likely. "We're a charity, our resources are limited, we take as much security precautions as we can, but if thieves want in they'll always find a away." |
