Head teacher Tracey Wilson said the area affected was a carpet play area for five-year-olds.
"We are very relieved it happened in the middle of the night and not at nine o'clock when the children were here.
"We have a local company making it safe for the time being but then we'll have the local authority arrive to have a look to make sure the rest of the building is safe to open, hopefully next week."
