Armed police are on patrol in Liverpool following a double shooting in which a man was killed and another was left seriously ill in hospital. A man has been killed and another is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after a double shooting in a street in Liverpool.
The men were shot in the street on Ravensthorpe Green, Norris Green, at about 01:00 BST in what police described as a "targeted attack". Merseyside Police said the two men were shot on Ravensthorpe Green, Norris Green, at about 01:00 BST.
Joseph Thompson, 32, from Norris Green, died at the scene.
The other man, who is 27, is in hospital with gunshot injuries to his upper body, that are not thought to be life-threatening.
