A British tourist was drowned in South Africa as she rode a horse along a beach, local police have confirmed. A British tourist has drowned in South Africa while riding a horse on a beach.

She was out riding with two other women, one of whom was from Britain. Both the other women escaped unharmed. Two other women, one from south Africa and one from the UK, escaped unharmed. Mrs Jackson's body was recovered shortly after the accident.
